Released in 2007, LCD Soundsystem’s Sounds of Silver is more than just a dance record — it’s a soundtrack for aging hipsters, night owls, and anyone caught between nostalgia and progress. James Murphy made an album that grooves hard but also aches quietly.

With tracks like “All My Friends” and “Someone Great,” it captures that moment in life when the party starts to feel different — when joy, regret, and self-awareness all start showing up at the same time. It’s witty, raw, and weirdly beautiful.

At a time when indie rock was flirting with the dancefloor, Sounds of Silver went all in — and in doing so, it became a defining album of the 2000s.
